Before we give an answer to the question of how to remove blackheads, it is important to explain how they are formed in the first place.

What Are Blackheads

Blackheads or comedones are a type of acne. They most often occur on the face: the forehead, nose and chin, that is, the T zone. In the pores of our skin, there are hair follicles and sebaceous glands, which produce sebum. When there is increased secretion of the sebaceous glands, excess sebum in contact with bacteria, dust, makeup residues and other impurities, creates a “plug” in the pores. If this “plug” appears on the surface of the skin, in contact with air or oxygen, it becomes black. It is these black spots on the skin that represent blackheads.

Unlike other acne, blackheads do not create inflammatory processes on the skin. They are not painful to the touch, so they are also less problematic. However, they annoy us just as much as red pimples, because they can be very visible.

The most common reasons for the formation of blackheads are:

  • inadequate cleansing of the skin of the face;
  • hormonal imbalance (due to stress, during menstruation, pregnancy, etc.);
  • genetic predispositions (such as skin type);
  • wrong eating habits.

Most of these factors can be influenced, and therefore, reduce the appearance of blackheads. Proper facial care, which is adapted to your skin type, and regular facial cleansing can largely prevent the appearance of blackheads. Also, changing bad lifestyle habits, avoiding stressful situations, balanced diet and healthy meals significantly affect the appearance and health of our skin.

How to Remove Blackheads

Apart from going to a beauty salon for a facial cleansing treatment, there are several effective methods for getting rid of blackheads at home.

Primarily, there are the famous peel-off, or black face cleansing masks, which are very easy to use. They are especially recommended for people with oily skin, because black dots appear on their face more often. These products as the main ingredient contain activated charcoal, which cleanses the pores and is used for skin detoxification treatments. Regular use of these masks, with adequate daily facial care, can remove almost all blackheads from the surface layers of the skin.

Peel-off masks are easy to apply to the face, preferably using silicone cosmetic brushes. And they are even easier to remove. After the mask dries and a thin foil-like film forms on the skin, it is enough to pull the “foil” from the root of the chin upwards with a slight movement. Then it is necessary to rinse your face with water and apply a soothing, moisturizing cream.

Our recommendation is to include a Revuele No Problem Peel-off Face Cleansing Mask in your weekly care routine, which effectively removes acne and blackheads, leaving the skin clean and silky gentle. Activated charcoal, which is the main ingredient of this product, increases the cleansing effect of the skin. It absorbs impurities and toxins, gently cleans pores, removes excess sebum and dead skin cells. The mask is also enriched with zinc and silver ions, which have antibacterial properties. They regulate the secretion of sebum from the sebaceous glands and prevent the appearance of new acne and blackheads.

How to Remove Blackheads at Home Like a Professional

In addition to peel-off masks, other products can be used to remove blackheads. If you have a smaller number of blackheads on your face, you can effectively remove them using a cosmetic instrument called a comedone extractor. It is a metal stick, which most often has hook-shaped ends. Professional cosmetologists use this instrument during facial treatments to squeeze pimples. Thanks to its practical shape, this instrument easily reaches the hard-to-reach parts of the face and the smallest blackheads, which are easily removed by proper application. More about how to use the comedone extractor, we shall write in one of the following texts.

Blackheads can also be easily removed using vacuum appliances. This technique is also applied by professionals, and thanks to small appliances for home use, each of us can be his own beautician.

Our suggestion is to try the vacuum machine for removing blackheads, which has a potent suction power and three operation speeds. It effectively removes blackheads, acne, dead skin cells and other impurities. The device works with a USB cable, and the package comes with six different attachments that allow easier access to certain parts of the face.

How to Remove Blackheads from the Nose

As we have already said, blackheads most often occur on the T zone, and are most visible on the nose. Except the previously described ways of removing blackheads, these black dots can be easily eliminated from the nose with the so-called peel-off strips.

Our recommendation: Beauty Formulas Strips for Removing Blackheads from the Nose based on activated carbon. There are six single-use pieces in the package. The strip is easy to use by sticking to clean but moist skin or nose and leaving it on for 10-15 minutes. Then, with an energetic movement, it is pulled from one end and the other to the middle of the nose, in order to be peeled off. Afterward, it is necessary to rinse the skin with clean water and apply a moisturizer.
