Place the appliance on a smooth, flat surface and plug the power cord into the mains;
Unlock the heating plates by turning the lock-in ring to the position of an open padlock;
To turn the appliance on, press and hold the power button for a few seconds;
Turn the temperature dial clockwise to increase the temperature;
Turn the temperature dial counterclockwise to decrease the temperature;
Press and hold the power button for a few seconds to turn the appliance off.

A lock symbol will be shown on the display after 10 seconds standby and the temperature cannot be adjusted by a single dial; turn the temperature dial until the lock symbol disappears from the display, which means that the temperature control function is active again.
