Hair Mask

A hair mask provides additional care that restores essential moisture, shine and quality to hair damaged by colouring, blow-drying and straightening. Like conditioner, a hair mask should not be applied to the scalp. These products are designed to repair and nourish the hair, not the scalp.

A hair strand is cylindrical in shape and consists of the medulla, cortex and cuticle, and different products act on different layers. A hair mask is richer in composition than a conditioner and penetrates the cortex, which means it nourishes the hair deeply. It strengthens the hair structure and restores its shine. A mask is used occasionally to nourish the hair from within.

How often you should use a mask depends on your hair type and its specific needs. For dry hair, it should be used once a week or once every two weeks. If the hair becomes oily quickly, using a mask twice a month is usually enough.

A hair mask should be applied 4-5 cm away from the scalp. After applying it, leave it on for 10-15 minutes, ideally wrapping the hair in a towel, and then rinse thoroughly. Another method is to apply the mask to dry hair before shampooing, leave it on for some time, and then rinse.
