Acrylic for nails is a material used for natural nail overlays and nail sculpting. With the acrylic technique, a brush is first dipped into a liquid monomer, then into acrylic powder to form a bead. This bead is then applied and shaped on the natural nail plate, a nail tip, or a form to achieve desired shape and length. Due to a chemical reaction between the powder and the liquid, acrylic cures naturally in the air, without the need for a UV/LED lamp.
Apart from traditional acrylic, acrylic gel is commonly used. This hybrid system allows for more precise work, as it is easily applied like acrylic but cured under a UV/LED lamp like gel. Its thick consistency allows for better control during application, making it ideal for strengthening natural nails and sculpting various lengths and shapes.
A particularly practical option is acrylic gel in a tube, as it is very easy to dispense. This type of packaging saves time and simplifies hygienic application, making it ideal for salon use.
