For cold therapy, store the compress in the freezer for a minimum of one hour before use, or keep it in the freezer for instant use;
For hot therapy, place the compress flat in a microwave, set the power level to high. Heat up no more than 50 seconds. To heat without a microwave, place the compress in a basin;
Pour boiling water over it, keep the compress in the water for 2 minutes.
