Tear-free

Tear-free is a term used in cosmetics to describe products with formulas developed not to cause stinging or eye irritation when they come into contact with the eyes. This label is most commonly found on products intended for children, such as shampoos and body washes, but it may also appear on certain facial cleansers or makeup removers.

Tear-free formulas are typically based on milder surfactants (cleansing agents), a balanced pH and carefully chosen ingredients that remain gentle on the eye’s mucous membrane.
